Wonderlights Returns to Malahide Castle with new spellbinding theme, ‘The Night Sky’

As the longer winter nights draw in, Follow Fox Events presents Wonderlights as it returns to Malahide Castle this November with an awe inspiring and exciting new theme, ‘The Night Sky’.

Now in its third year and ideal for the young and young at heart alike, the incredible Wonderlights ‘The Night Sky’ route begins with a magical sensory light show in the sprawling woodlands with breathtaking visuals capturing The Irish Countryside. Continue the immersive journey crossing astonishing frozen Arctic Forests before arriving at the mesmerizing Northern Lights, soaking up the enchantment with every footstep. As guests gaze skyward, they’ll experience fantastic scenes of ‘The Night Sky’ from Meteor Showers and the sprawling Cosmos to those illusive shooting stars! A Galaxy of light installations await you on this year's walk by Wonderlight.

Curators of the highly acclaimed previous themes of ‘Ireland By Night’ and ‘Castle of Light’, Wonderlights is Ireland’s only multi-sensory, 2km outdoor trail, that captures the imagination and safely transports guests into a world of wonder. An international team of talented creatives have curated this year’s spectacular new show. State of the art technologies and dazzling displays will see Wonderlights, ‘The Night Sky’ reach new heights for this best in class experience.

There's no need to worry about going hungry either as the food partners for Wonderlights at Malahide Castle & Gardens have just been announced for their Winter Village, where guests can spend some time pre or post walk. They’ve got you covered with everything from Griolladh's mouth-watering grilled cheese sambos, sumptuous barbeque options from Sugar Mama BBQ, to wood-fired sourdough pizzas from Angelo's. Providing hot drinks and tasty treats, with Sprinkles Desserts and Coffee & Donuts, who will be serving Creed Coffee & The Rolling Donut.

With plenty of onsite parking and road signage from public transport routes, along with fully accessible wheelchair and pram friendly, this experience is perfect for family and friends of all ages to enjoy.

Wonderlights work in close partnership with the grounds staff of the Malahide Castle to enhance the natural features of the woodland areas and maintain the integrity of the parklands. Ever mindful of the current energy crisis and demand on the national supply, their show will be powered by hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO). Often considered one of the cleanest fuel alternatives, HVO eliminates CO2 emissions by up to 90 per cent. In line with this, all of their lights use the most energy efficient bulbs available.

Finally, one of the draws of Malahide Castle is its accessibility by public transport. While there is a car park, the location is served by numerous bus routes and the DART, which Wonderlights encourages their visitors to choose where they can.

Wonderlights ‘The Night Sky’ runs from November 4th until January 3rd. Entry times are every 15 minutes from 5pm - 8pm.
