Wellness Shots, Coffee Tasting and Wine Sipping At The Birdhill Coffee Festival on the 6th and 7th of July in Tipperary

The inaugural Birdhill Coffee Festival kicks off in Tipperary on the 6th and 7th of July, offering festival-goers morning yoga sessions, coffee tastings, hands-on coffee roasting, educational talks by world-renowned coffee experts, coffee cocktails and wine tasting.

The festival will host speakers including industry leaders, marketing experts, sommeliers and influencers on The Guest Speaker Stage. Confirmed speakers include award-winning Daniel Horbat of Sumo Coffee Roasters, latte art expert Luis Alvarez and coffee roaster Rob Hallinan, plus many more.

Daniel Horbat is a well-decorated member of the coffee scene, winning the World Cup Tasting Championship in 2019, a first-time win by an Irish competitor. In his 18-year-long career, he accumulated experience behind the bar, consulting, teaching and mentoring, before becoming the founder of Sumo Coffee Roasters.

Luis Alvarez, from Venezuela, is renowned for his latte art. He competed in the National Latte Art and Barista Championships, was head trainer at Dublin Barista School, judged two Irish Brewers Cups, and participated in three National Aeropress Championships. Rob Hallinan has many years of experience in the world of coffee. His most recent venture saw him open a new roadside roasting and drive-through coffee bar in Avoca, Co Wicklow.  He will brew some of his beans for festival-goers and chat about brewing, tasting, and all things coffee.

It’s not just coffee drinking on offer over the weekend; expert sommeliers will host wine tastings suitable for all levels of wine knowledge, from curious beginners to wine connoisseurs. On Saturday 6th July, sommelier Richard Reeves from JN Wines will give a wine-tasting experience focusing on Spanish wines, while on Sunday, the focus is on French wines hosted by Niamh Quinn of Wines Direct.

Irish family-owned business  SiSu will be on hand to look after your health and well-being over the festival weekend. Johanna King of The Joga Club will offer yoga sessions in the park at 9 am each morning while SiSu will welcome all attendees to enjoy their wellness shots and cold-pressed juices - if you want a break from all the coffee, try one of their just launched range of kombuchas.
