In Carers Week 2023, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland (The ASI) will launch the DemTalks podcast; Series One, The Dementia Carers Campaign Network. The Dementia Carers Campaign Network (DCCN) is an advocacy group of people who have experience caring for a loved one with dementia. The podcast is proudly sponsored by Hidden Hearing.
This first series of the DemTalks, Our Stories, Our Voices podcast is dedicated to amplifying carer voices and stories and destigmatising the experience of caring. The podcast aims to create a platform where carers and experts can share their unique experiences, perspectives, and ideas.
Series One will feature diverse stories and members of the DCCN will be joined by Entrepreneur Pamela Laird speaking about caring for her father who is living with dementia, Makeup Artist Megan O’Connor sharing her experience of caring for her mother who passed away after living with dementia. Songwriter and Musician Mike Hanrahan speaks about supporting his mother through dementia and how this inspired him to become a Global Brain Health Fellow.
ASI Ambassador and Entrepreneur Pamela Laird says: "DemTalks will be a fantastic source of information for people caring for their loved ones; hearing others with real experience can be a great support to other carers and those looking after family members affected by dementia.
