The Pepper Pot - Bakery Opens & Café Re-Opens

The George’s Street Arcade is the brand new Pepper Pot Bakery, a sibling to the well-established Pepper Pot Café in the nearby Powerscourt Townhouse.

Open Wednesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm, the Bakery offers a tempting range of traditional and inventive baked goods and pastries. Fans of the Café will be delighted to find the Pepper Pot signature style of modern takes on classics, from fresh baked loafs to towering cream cakes! Bringing a colourful and delicious new food shopping and take out dining option to this iconic shopping arcade.

The Pepper Pot Bakery is the second venture for creator and baker Marian Kilcoyne. Her passion for food, taking her time in preparation while using a mix of old techniques and experimentation, quickly won her a loyal fan base of locals and tourists at The Pepper Pot Café. With this new outlet for her produce, even more food lovers can select from the very best of fresh baked breads, pastries, pies, sausage rolls and sandwiches.

The bakery’s menu is geared towards the to-go market ideal for the market shopper and an outdoor lifestyle with savoury and sweet offerings. Classic loaves include White Crusty Cob €4 , Pumpkin Seed and Treacle Brown Soda €4.50, Topped Focaccia €5.50 and Sourdough Market Loaf €5 with beautiful treats such as Raspberry Bakewell and Banoffee Brownies.

There’s also a selection of French and Scandi style pastries with Croissants and Pain au Chocolat, Danish Pastries and Bagels. Lunchtime favourites like Meat & Veggie Pies €5 and Sausage Rolls €4 are all made with the Pepper Pot’s own pastry. There is a quirky surprise revamp of the Pepper Pot original sandwich (Pear, Bacon and Cheddar) entering the pastry world as a Danish €5.50. To drink there’s Katies Kombucha €4 and Club-Mate €3.

The Pepper Pot Café in Powerscourt Townhouse will reopen on July 28th with an updated menu in the setting of the beautifully airy atrium, for the perfect sit down coffee, snack or lunch. Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm.
