The PTSB Ideal Home Show returns to RDS Simmonscourt from Friday, April 11th – Sunday, April 13th, bringing together over 230 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations in home renovation, energy upgrades, and interior design. From expert advice on home builds to furnishings, appliances, and lifestyle must-haves—including everything from garden furniture to saunas—the show is the ultimate destination for homeowners looking to transform their living spaces.

To add to the excitement, the Fleetwood Paints Challenge is back for its second year, inviting DIY enthusiasts and upcycling lovers to breathe new life into a preloved piece of furniture. The challenge offers the chance to win fantastic prizes, including a €500 Fleetwood Paints voucher and a luxurious getaway at the Leonardo Hotel Dublin Christchurch.

This year’s competition celebrates the launch of Prestige by Fleetwood, an innovative new collection of expertly curated colours developed with renowned interior designers Róisín Lafferty and Arlene McIntyre. Designed to deliver strong, beautiful colour with air-purifying properties, it offers the perfect way to refresh any space.

To enter, participants must repurpose and restyle an everyday item using Fleetwood Paints and submit before-and-after photos showcasing the transformation. The winners will be invited to the PTSB Ideal Home Show on the 11th -13th April, where they will be presented with their prizes.

The top prize includes a €500 Fleetwood Paints voucher to fuel future projects, along with a two-night stay for two at the stylish Leonardo Hotel Dublin Christchurch, complete with dinner on an evening of their choice. Located in the heart of the city, the hotel offers modern rooms with mini fridges rainfall showers, 50” smart TVs, and the ultra-comfy DREAM bed. Guests can relax in the chic bar and restaurant and savour fresh Lavazza coffee as you soak in the vibrant city atmosphere —an ideal retreat after a day of inspiration at the show. With Leonardo Hotels also in Dublin Parnell Street, Galway, Cork, and Belfast, this is the perfect prize for a well-deserved escape!

A Fleetwood Paints hamper filled with essential upcycling supplies will also be awarded to a runner-up

Aileen Hogan, Fleetwood’s Upcycling Ambassador and founder of Shabby.ie, FionnualaMoran, RTÉ 2FM presenter and sustainable living influencer, and the Fleetwood Paints team will take on the challenge of selecting a winner.

Speaking about this year’s challenge, Fionnuala Moran said: “I loved looking at all of the amazing transformations last year, and I can’t wait to see what people create this year with Fleetwood Paints!”

Aileen Hogan added; “I'm delighted to be back judging the Fleetwood Paints Challenge at the Ideal Home Show this year. The creativity and resourcefulness shown by participants always impresses me, and I can't wait to see the imaginative and inspiring ways people transform their pre-loved pieces into something beautiful, practical, and unique for their homes.”

At last year’s Fleetwood Paints Challenge, Seán Nolan from Knocklyon, Co. Dublin, impressed the judges with his stunning reinvention of an old, discarded drawer unit rescued from a neighbour’s rubbish collection. Originally a tired and scuffed piece destined for landfill, Seán gave it a bold and contemporary new look using Fleetwood Paints Prestige colour ‘Midnight Magic’. The deep, rich shade completely transformed the unit, which he paired with elegant gold hardware and a sleek, modern finish. His creativity and craftsmanship turned a forgotten piece into a standout feature - securing him the top prize.

Entrants can submit before and after photos of their projects at www.idealhome.ie detailing the Fleetwood Paints colour and finish used to bring their vision to life.
