The Bridge 1859 Celebrates a Decade in Ballsbridge with Limited Edition Whiskey release

The Bridge 1859, located in the heart of Ballsbridge, Dublin, is proud to celebrate its 10-year Anniversary this week (the pub opened on the 25th September 2014).

Known as a haven for rugby enthusiasts and a favourite local watering hole just a stone's throw away from the RDS and Aviva Stadium, The Bridge 1859 has become a cherished part of the community over the past decade.

To mark this special milestone, the owners – Noel Anderson, Jamie Heaslip, Rob Kearney, Dave Kearney, and Sean O'Brien – have commissioned a unique and exclusive 10-year-old Irish Whiskey, available only at The Bridge 1859.

The whiskey, produced in collaboration with Two Stacks Whiskey, is a blend of Single Malt and Single Grain whiskies distilled in early 2014 at the renowned Cooley Distillery in Co. Louth. Following initial maturation in ex-bourbon casks, it underwent an additional finishing process in a First-Fill ex-Oloroso Sherry Hogshead from Jerez, Spain, overseen by Two Stacks Bonders and Blenders. The result is a whiskey that embodies the essence of The Bridge 1859's spirit – vibrant, bold, and full of character.

Bottled at a generous 48.5% strength, the whiskey boasts a deep, rich red hue, a testament to its unique maturation process. It delivers a complex nose of ripe orchard fruits, sticky fruit cake, vanilla, and oak. The palate follows with sherry sweetness, sun-dried raisins, warming baking spice, and chocolate-covered nougat, culminating in a finish of pear and apple marzipan tart, cinnamon, and a lingering sherry note.

A special release for a special occasion:

There will be only 300 individually numbered 700ml bottles available, alongside a limited release of 100ml cans, making this a truly exclusive collector's item for whiskey aficionados and loyal customers of The Bridge 1859.

Speaking about the release, Noel Anderson said,"It’s been an incredible 10 years at The Bridge 1859, and we wanted to do something truly special to celebrate this milestone. This whiskey represents everything we love – quality, character, and a bit of Irish soul. We can’t wait to share it with our customers and the community that has supported us from day one."

The Bridge 1859 invites whiskey lovers, rugby fans, and the local community to join in the celebrations. The exclusive 10-year anniversary whiskey is available to buy in The Bridge 1859 from Thursday, 26th September priced at €125 per 700ml bottle and €25 per 100ml can. It will also be served on site as a short.

Customers are encouraged to visit early to secure their own bottle of this one-of-a-kind Irish Whiskey.
