Teeling Whiskey announces sponsorship of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic

Teeling Whiskey, Ireland’s leading progressive whiskey, is proud to announce it has become the official Irish whiskey partner of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic series. Dublin has become the European home of American College Football with the opening game of the new College Football Season now hosted in the Aviva Stadium during August.

Teeling Whiskey, distilled in the city centre of Dublin and celebrated as the Spirit of Dublin, is a perfect partner for the series. The US is the largest market for Irish whiskey in the world and the Teeling Whiskey Distillery provides a perfect, unique destination for US visitors to experience, while here for the match.

The next game in the five game series is Notre Dame hosting Navy in the Aviva Stadium on Saturday 26th August 2023 bringing an estimated 40,000 US visitors to Dublin City. The game will be the first time that Notre Dame will move a home game to Ireland and is set to provide a major boost to the country.


Grant Thornton and Fáilte Ireland economists have calculated the 2023 fixture to be worth €147m directly to the Irish economy. This fixture is scheduled for week zero and will be the opening game for the 2023 College Football Season. The game will be broadcasted by NBC with an expected TV audience of more than five million viewers. The 2024 game details have also recently been announced with Georgia Tech and Florida State University having been revealed to play at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, on Saturday, 24th August 2024.

The Aer Lingus College Football Classic game series is a successful and proactive public-private collaboration. The five-game series is estimated to be worth €413million to the Irish economy according to Grant Thornton and Fáilte Ireland and will prove a timely and welcome boost to the Irish hospitality and tourism industries over the next number of years.
