St Patrick’s Festival – a celebration of Irish culture, heritage and now, Poitín!

Poitín has long been denied its rightful place alongside the best signature spirits in the world. But that is all set to change as Mad March Hare, the No 1 Poitín brand, ramps up their campaign to take Poitín global, and earn it the recognition it deserves! The mission to celebrate our uniquely Irish spirit, in a spirit, kicks off on home turf this month with Mad March Hare popping up in a range of guises in some of Dublin’s best loved venues!

Whether sipped solo, mixed or shaken into a cocktail, Mad March Hare captures perfectly the character and charm of the Irish spirit! Try it as an Irish Margarita, a Mad March Mule, Mad March Sour and even as a shot alongside a pint of Murphy’s Irish Stout. These signature pours are bringing Poitín out of the shadows and into the spotlight with a feisty attitude that has seen it endure over 300 years of prohibition!  Poitín no longer just has to survive, the time has come to thrive!

The central celebration of the month takes place in Café en Seine on Dawson Street over St Patrick’s weekend with a pop up Mad March Hare poitín party on the main day, and a dedicated menu of poitín pours.

Often referred to by bartenders as being comparable to Mezcal, Mad March Hare will star in the Irish Margaritas served up by Mexican cantina 777 every Sunday during March and on  St. Patricks Day too!

The cocktail menus of JT Pims, Fade Street Social, Zozimus and Drury Buildings will embrace Mad March Hare throughout the month with a range of concoctions to tempt their customers.

The Temple Bar is going all out, serving Mad March Mule in branded tin mugs and decorating their windows, while their neighbour Riot will offer three special serves for St. Patricks weekend as cocktails and a shot with a pint of Murphy’s!

Also, keep an eye out for Mad March Hare concoctions at Hang Dai, The Wiley Fox, Jackie’s and Eleven!

Colin Staunton, Global Brand Director, Intrepid Spirits, said: “Mad March Hare is a proudly Irish brand, we couldn't be anything else. Our goal this March is to become more relevant within the lives of our consumers in Ireland, and to be part of the Paddy’s Day conversation in a legitimate way. The Irish people have a very good reason to be proud of poitín and with our Dublin takeover this March we'll be showcasing some of the very best that this category has to offer in some of the city's best-loved venues“
