Healthy Heroes Lunch Club, a primary school initiative supported by the Irish Bread Bakers Association (IBBA) and Bord Bia, teams up with personality Sarah Morrissey to host fun ‘get moving’ sessions at the ‘Budding Bloomers Kids’ Zone.’ The interactive sessions will take place on May 30th and 31st at 10.45am and each day.
The fun activities as part of each session are inspired by some of the ‘get moving’ elements of the Healthy Heroes programme, which aims to educate children on nutrition, physical activity and how to maintain and enjoy healthy lunchtime habits.
The Healthy Heroes Club programme, now in it's tenth year, allows pupils to learn about nutrition, while helping to boost children’s activity levels in a supportive learning environment. Designed by teachers and behaviour change experts with the support of Dr. Mary McCreery, one of Ireland’s leading consultant nutritionists and dieticians, the initiative gives children the opportunity to foster valuable leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, all while learning to stay active and eat healthily.
Speaking ahead of the event, Sarah Morrissey said “I am delighted to partner with the Healthy Heroes Lunch Club supported by the IBBA and Bord Bia, to host these fun and interactive kids’ movement sessions at the Budding Bloomers Kids’ Zone at Bloom. The power and benefits of exercise is something I feel passionate about, for me, it has always been an important aspect of my life. At home, I encourage my daughter Sadie to get moving through fun activities and we both really feel the benefits of this fun time together. I look forward to meeting all the children at the Budding Bloomers Kids’ Zone and would invite visitors to Bloom to come along to the sessions to have some fun and get moving”.
