Irish Whiskey brand Tullamore D.E.W. recently faced a supply issue when a fire broke out at one of it's bottle suppliers. In response, the brand sought a speedy solution, considering options including juice boxes, paper bottles and even tin cans.
Tullamore D.E.W. is pleased to announce that it has found a round glass bottle which looks different to the original but does a perfect job at holding the same smooth Irish Whiskey from Tullamore. The new limited edition bottles will be available in trade from early April.
These round bottles will be temporary, but their supply will ensure Tullamore D.E.W. consumers continue to enjoy the much loved Irish Whiskey.
Tullamore D.E.W. has a rich heritage of Whiskey distilling excellence since its establishment in 1829. As the world’s second largest selling Irish Whiskey brand, Tullamore D.E.W. remains a proud leader in the Irish Whiskey category.
Speaking about the new bottle, Nora Torpey, Global Brand Director said:
“Unfortunately, we got a call to say that there was a fire at our bottle suppliers and we would be out of stock for a few months. Obviously, this news was not ideal - what’s a Whiskey brand to do without bottles? Not a brand to hide from a challenge, we looked at various options before finding this round bottle. We hadn’t planned on a new bottle this year but needs must! It’s not going to be like this forever, we will bring our original bottle back soon. The good news is the bottle may look different but the Whiskey inside is the same.”
Tullamore D.E.W. is the original triple blend of Irish Whiskey, by combining three spirits the blend gives us three dimensions of flavour to explore; malt Whiskey gives us fruit, pot still Whiskey gives us spice and grain Whiskey gives us sweet. These three spirits come together to give a balance of flavour like no other in the category.
Tullamore D.E.W.’s award-winning range includes Original, Tullamore D.E.W. Honey, Tullamore D.E.W. XO Caribbean Rum Cask Finish, Tullamore D.E.W. 12 year Old Special Reserve, Tullamore D.E.W. 14 Year Old Single Malt, Tullamore D.E.W. 18 Year Old Single Malt and Tullamore D.E.W.
