Christmas has come early for stout fans, as Porterhouse Brew Co. introduces the fourth and final generation of it's award-winning Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, Around the Clock.
Following the extremely successful, limited releases of the first three batches of Around the Clock in 2020 and 2021, the hotly anticipated Around the Clock 4 (RRP ˆ6, ABV 12%) is finally here, with a limited release of 9,000 bottles, and would make an ideal stocking filler for beer enthusiasts!

These trademarks are evident in the launch of it's unique new Barrel Aged Imperial Stout - Around the Clock 4.
How it’s made
This 2022 limited release of Around the Clock has been aged for nine months and is a further refinement of Porterhouse’s boundary pushing barrel aged beers.
An enhanced mash bill of seven different malts complements seven separate hop additions during brewing. The flavours from the beer are combined with a 24-hour brew boil creating an even fuller, smoother stout.
The resulting beer has then matured for nine months at Dingle Distillery in a combination of freshly emptied bourbon casks with the addition of some smoked hickory bourbon casks which adds a depth of smokiness to this year’s release.
Tasting notes
A sumptuous Imperial Irish Stout with hints of chocolate, coffee, and caramel. The unique aging in Bourbon barrels, with the addition of Hickory Bourbon barrels, adds a depth of complex flavours of sweet smokiness to this luscious stout.

The first batch of Around the Clock, released in November 2020, won both the Independent Craft Brewers of Ireland (ICBI) Beer of the Year award & Beoir Beer of the Year. Each limited release of Around the Clock since launch has sold out and, as the final release in the series, Around the Clock 4 is expected to do the same!
