This month could enter the history books as the wettest January on record, according to Ladbrokes.
Following a flood of bets overnight, the bookmaker has been forced to slash the odds on this month going down as the wettest ever to 2/1 from 5/1.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: "The rainy start to the New Year seems to have dampened the spirit of punters, so much so that they are firmly backing this month to be the wettest ever!"
