Lidl Ireland are delighted to announce a new contract with Skelligs Chocolate. This new deal will see the Kerry based chocolatier supply a range of exclusive Handmade Chocolate Easter Eggs to Lidl stores nationwide under the retailer’s “Deluxe” own brand range this April.
This latest deal will expand the chocolatier and confectionary producers’ range of locally produced products to include an exclusive range of handmade Deluxe Easter eggs that contain three delicious truffles hidden inside. The beautifully packaged eggs will be available for just €9.99 each in Dark Chocolate Easter Egg with Chocolate Vanilla Ganache Truffles; White Chocolate Easter Egg with three Lemon and Lime Truffles and Milk Chocolate Easter Egg with three Milk Chocolate Truffles.
Skelligs Chocolates was founded in 1996 by Michael and Amanda McGowan with a team of four employees. The chocolate factory now employees more than 37 people. Skelligs started working with Lidl Ireland in 2021 when Lidl signed Skelligs onto their Kick Start Supplier Development Programme. The Kick Start Supplier Development Programme is run by Lidl Ireland and supported by Bord Bia, it is designed to help small and medium Irish food and drink businesses that need support in growing their brand and building their supply network.
Skelligs Chocolates currently supply an existing assortment of sustainable and plant-based Cocoa Bean Chocolate Bars to Lidl stores nationwide in Mint, Maple & Pecan, Salted Caramel and Orange chocolate variety.
Commenting on the contract extension and highlighting the commitment by Lidl to work with local Irish suppliers and further develop their product portfolio, Zoe Russell, Buyer, Lidl Ireland said:
