Just Eat, Ireland’s leading on demand food delivery platform, have created a new ‘Deliver At Home’ campaign that pays homage to Irish fan culture whilst building anticipation for the UEFA Europa League Final, which took place in Dublin last week.
Following the viral success of last year’s campaign, ‘The Nutmeg,’ with John O’Shea, Just Eat Ireland collaborated with former Newcastle United and Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given in a new brand film titled Any ‘Given’ Wednesday as part of the wider campaign.
Developed and produced by Abstraction Pictures, the film draws heavy inspiration from Al Pacino’s ‘Any Given Sunday’ speech and showcases Shay’s amusing impersonation of football legend Kevin Keegan. It also features cameos from TNT presenter Laura Woods and former England goalkeeper Ben Foster and once again has driven wide acclaim on social media by tapping into football subculture using iconic references combined with tongue-in-cheek humour.
Working with Teneo, Just Eat garnered widespread print, online, and broadcast coverage of the campaign including feature interviews from Shay Given, sport media coverage, and commentary on the content itself.
The broader campaign featured extensive Out-Of-Home (OOH) advertising and several activations across Dublin, supported by Core and UM Ireland.
Imagery from the campaign could be seen by those landing at Dublin Airport and right across the city. On match day, Just Eat’s own couriers joined in the action by transporting fans of Atalanta BC & Bayer 04 Leverkusen between UEFA’s Dublin Castle fan zone and their respective fan meeting points.
Speaking on the campaign and its success, John Carey, Head of Marketing at Just Eat Ireland, commented “We’re delighted to see how well this campaign was received by both Irish and European football fans. Shay was excellent to work with from start to finish and it’s great to see the positive response to the content that has been created. Just Eat has always been proud of our work on our UEFA sponsorship, but this one is extra special as we’ve been able to deliver right here in Dublin.”.
As a proud partner of UEFA, Just Eat rolled out a star-studded campaign, impressing football fans across the country. Kudos to all involved in the perfect delivery!
