RECIPES:

Cheesy Extra Crispy French Fries with Bacon and sour cream

Serves: 4

Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

• 400g Green Isle Extra Crispy French Fries

• 4 rashers of smoked streaky bacon

• 150g grated red cheddar/mozzarella mix (or use whatever mix of cheeses you have)

• 2 spring onions, very finely sliced

• 150g sour cream

• Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method

1. To air fry the chips, preheat the air fryer to 200°C. Place 200g of chips in the basket. Cook for 10 minutes or until crisp and golden, shake occasionally to ensure an even cook.

2. To oven cook, turn the oven to 220 C / 200C fan and place the chips on a baking tray and cook for 18-24 minutes until crisp and golden. Turn the chips halfway through cooking.

3. Whilst the chips cook, slice the bacon into lardons and place into a cold pan. Turn the heat to medium and cook until crispy and golden then remove from the pan.

4. When the chips are cooked, turn your grill to high, spread the chips out on a baking tray and line it with tin foil to make the clean up easier! Sprinkle the cheese over the chips and place under the grill for 3 - 4 mins until the cheese has melted and is turning golden.

5. Remove from the oven and place the chips in a serving dish and sprinkle over the bacon bits and spring onions. Dollop the sour cream all over and season with salt and pepper. Enjoy.
