Earlier today Leinster Rugby player James Lowe marked the re-opening of one of Dublin’s most loved casual dining restaurants, Gourmet Burger Kitchen. Lowe has himself been announced as GBK Brand Ambassador and was there to announce the re-opening of the South Anne Street restaurant, which has been closed for the past 16 months. The much anticipated re-opening also sees the welcoming back of 70 Staff Members to their branches.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen, often referred to as GBK, is known for it's delicious burgers which come in lots of different varieties such as with chicken, beef or veggie options. James Lowe and GBK have the New Zealand connection in common; James is originally from New Zealand, and moved to Ireland in 2017 when he started playing for the Leinster and Irish rugby teams. Gourmet Burger Kitchen is a brand with a New Zealand connection- it was originally launched by two New Zealanders and first opened in Ireland in 2006.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen thought James was the perfect fit to be the face of the restaurants given the New Zealand background of the company and the country itself being the land of rugby and great, fresh food!
Speaking on his new Brand Ambassador role, James said; "It’s outstanding to be part of the GBK team! The restaurants have a vast menu with only the finest ingredients used. A Kiwi chef originally created the menu so I’m all for the burgers! Now that the GBK restaurants are open again, I’m looking forward to sharing the experience with friends and family!"
The concept of “Gourmet Burgers” were invented in New Zealand and the GBK menu was created by a well-known Kiwi chef Peter Gordon. Gourmet Burger Kitchen has four branches based in the Dublin Area (South Anne Street, South William Street, Liffey Valley and Temple Bar) with many branches just opening up this week for indoor dining.
Highlights of the recently revamped menu include 100% Grass fed Irish Beef, Irish Buttermilk Chicken, halloumi bites, falafel bites, chicken wings and handmade instore Bean patties.
