Gino’s Gelato opens 21st store, in Tramore

Irish gelato company Gino’s Gelato kicked off the Irish summer opening the doors of its 21st store in Tramore, Co. Waterford and has its sights set on 7 new locations across Ireland in the coming year.

Since the brand’s inception in 2008, Gino’s Gelato has grown to become one of the country’s most loved treats. 100% Irish owned, Gino’s was founded by second generation ice-cream men, Jonathan Kirwan and Anthony Murphy, the number one priority was to always use the very best and freshest ingredients, keeping the gelato as authentic as possible to traditional methods.

Each year Gino’s uses more than 400,000 litres of Organic Irish milk supporting Irish farmers and ensuring the very best tasting gelato as a result!

This month, the pair are thrilled to launch their second Co. Waterford store at Strand Road, Tramore after the success of Gino’s Gelato on Michael Street in the city centre. Despite more than a year under the difficult confines of a global pandemic, the pair have opened 5 new stores since June of last year with 7 more in the works to open before the end of 2021. Gino’s Gelato also hired 50 new staff in 2020 and will add an additional 140 to their workforce in 2021 bringing total staff numbers to over 400 by the end of the year.

Speaking about the latest store opening, MD and Co-Owner Jonathan Kirwan said, “Tramore is somewhere we have wanted to bring Gino’s Gelato to for some time. The people of Waterford have always been incredibly supportive and we are delighted to bring Gino’s to another corner of the county and country!.”

“We are delighted to expand Gino’s Gelato footprint further in the Sunny South East 2021. Tramore is somewhere we have been planning to open a Gino’s store for some time and we are thrilled to now make the dream a reality. We are getting fantastic local support and feedback so far and even the weather has come out to support our opening for Summer 2021.

"Supporting local and supporting Irish is incredibly important to us at Gino’s Gelato. We use only 100% Organic Irish milk in all of our gelato and use Irish filtered water brand ‘Uisce’ to make our sorbet range and so these new store openings mean consistently increasing support for our Irish producers and partners!”

Freshness is everything at Gino’s with every flavour made fresh in every store every day by in-house master gelato makers. Merging the very best of Italy and Ireland, Gino’s uses only 100% Irish organic milk mixed with the finest Italian ingredients creating a gelato that has won international awards, even beating the Italians themselves!

With an extensive menu including Gino’s famous gelato range, crêpes, milkshakes, waffles and more, a trip to Gino’s Tramore is the perfect day out in Waterford. Favourites include the multi-award-winning Pistachio Gelato, Mango Sorbet, Kinder Bueno, Oreo and Bubblegum.

Gino’s Gelato Tramore opening hours: 10am-10pm every day
