Gaiety Theatre Announces 'Agatha Christie’s - The Mousetrap' 70th Anniversary Production

A sensational cast of stars of screen and stage has been announced for this 70th Anniversary production of The Mousetrap, which comes to Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre from October 3rd to 15th, 2022; tickets priced from €20 are on sale now from Ticketmaster or in person at Gaiety Theatre Box Office.

Starting his career as Tucker in Grange Hill, the cast is led by Todd Carty – who was actually born in Limerick! John Altman, better known as Eastenders Nasty Nick, along with Only Fools and Horses’ Cassandra, aka actress Gwyneth Strong, add to the stellar cast, a real whos’ who for this amazing whodunit!

While his career started at a young age, Todd Carty is not only an accomplished actor on screen – Eastenders/The Bill – but also on stage – Spamalot/A Business of Murders. His credits now also include that of a Director of several episodes of BBC’s Doctors. Todd Carty will play Major Metcalfe, a disciplined and affable gentleman who seems all too keen to help his hosts cope with the consequences of the snowstorm. But who is he really, and why is he there

John Altman is an actor, singer, songwriter, author and poet; he is perhaps best known for playing 'Nasty' Nick Cotton in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. He was killed off in February 2015 as part of the special 30th-anniversary episode. John has also recently released his first album under the guise of Johnnie Altman. Altman will play the part of Mr Paravicini, a roguish gentleman who hides his reasons for being there and acts as if visiting from another era. He delights in the guests’ uncertainty and appears to enjoy the game… but what part does he play?

Perhaps best remembered for her portrayal of Rodney’s wife Cassandra in the legendary Only Fools and Horses, actress Gwyneth Strong is an accomplished star on screen but also on stage, having appeared in countless productions. In The Mousetrap, she plays Mrs Boyle, a strong-willed and uncompromising woman; who has a chip on her shoulder and a secret on her mind...

AGATHA CHRISTIE’S THE MOUSETRAP is the world’s longest-running play. This thrilling West End production is THE genre-defining murder mystery from the best-selling novelist of all time… case closed!

As news spreads of a murder in London, a group of seven strangers find themselves snowed in at a remote countryside guesthouse. When a police sergeant arrives, the guests discover – to their horror – that a killer is in their midst! Which one is the murderer? Who will be their next victim? Can you solve this world-famous mystery for yourself?

Now celebrating 70 years, AGATHA CHRISTIE’S THE MOUSETRAP has kept millions of people from every corner of the globe on the edge of their seats. COULD YOU BE NEXT?
