Dorian, a friendly neighbourhood bistro is which takes décor inspiration from the roaring 20s, is situated where the old Roy Fox grocer used to be. Dorian is the perfect spot for a low-key date, a casual catch up with friends or a pre-match lunch or dinner with an award-winning mixologist offering a host of interesting, delightful summer cocktails.
Dorian first opened its gilded doors in late 2021 to much acclaim, but alas, lockdowns and restrictions limited the flow of the initial launch. Now, five months later, Dorian is ready to welcome patrons to the restaurant and showcase the talents of the kitchen and bar staff with its modern-European themed fare featuring classic dishes like steak and hake as well as casual bites such as charcuterie boards and bar bites. Dorian also boasts a serious wine and cocktail selection. Ingredients are locally sourced where possible.
NEW SUMMER MENU Dorian’s new summer menu was curated by Head Chef Rowen Babe, who hails from New Zealand via London where he has honed his skills. Babe embraces the flavours of the new season focusing on smaller sharing places, with simple fresh flavours and daily specials as well as larger plates.
The new summer menu features dishes which are bound to be popular with even the choosiest of pallets, with highlights including Fennel Cured Mackerel, Courgette, Basil, Garlic and Chilli oil or Korean Cauliflower “Wings” marinated in spicy gochujang sauce, served with crispy shallots, sesame and coriander (many options are ideal for vegetarians). Other highlights include Cromane Mussels, Grilled Asparagus and Hand Pickled Crab on sourdough to name a few. The Dorian team have spent the last few months sourcing and researching what is in season and what is local. The restaurant prides itself in supporting local suppliers such as JJ Youngs, Sustainable Seafood Ireland, Firehouse Bakery and Total Produce.
COCKTAILS AND WINE IN THE SUBURBS With an extensive wine list that includes the house’s own “Dorian” label wine, which comes from a vineyard in Burgundy, France. Dorian is the cosy enclave that has got the neighbours talking.
Be prepared to tickle your tastebuds with Dorian’s award-winning cocktails made by mixologist Dorian Pappalardo. Yes, his name is also Dorian, coincidentally!
Award-winning cocktails such as Dorian’s Pineapple Margarita or the Pink Lady (Glendalough Rose Gin, Italicus & Lemon Juice) are inspired by the speakeasy classics of the Prohibition era and Victorian Britain and will not disappoint cocktail lovers.
