Tuesday December 3rd - also known as ’Giving Tuesday’. Domino’s, the nation’s best loved pizza company, encouraged pizza fans across the country to come together and ‘Yodel for Barretstown’, to help raise much needed funds for Barretstown Children’s Charity.
Domino’s launched the ‘Yodel for Barretstown’ challenge this week, pledging to donate €5 to Barretstown for every yodel or mention of #YodelforBarretstown shared on Instagram on ’Giving Tuesday’.
Domino’s fans can join the Yodel for Barretstown challenge by sharing their own unique Domin-oh-hoo-hoo yodel on Instagram, tagging it with #YodelforBarretstown and @dominos_roi.
Alternatively, they can support the cause by sharing Domino’s official Yodel for Barretstown reel on the Domino’s ROI Instagram channel. Helping Domino’s spotlight this festive initiative and raise awareness for Barretstown Children’s Charity are well-known content creators Emily Rochford, Cian Twomey, Thomas Crosse, and Brandon Caulfield. These influencers have been hard at work perfecting their own yodels while also exploring the inspiring work of Barretstown, which supports children with life-altering illnesses and their families.
On Giving Tuesday, they shared behind-the-scenes footage from a recent yodelling masterclass held at Barretstown’s camp in Ballymore Eustace, Kildare. Fans also got a glimpse into their visit, including their tour of the facilities and participation in one of Domino’s popular pizza-making workshops, a favourite activity among Barretstown campers.
Over the festive season, customers can also help make a difference by supporting the ‘Barretstown Bundlel’, a deal available in all local Domino’s stores offering medium pizza, garlic pizza bread, potato wedges and 2 X 330ml drinks for €25. For every Barretstown Bundle ordered, Domino’s donates €1 to Barrestown.
Throughout 2024, Domino’s has been celebrating 20 years of supporting Barretstown as a charity partner. Managing Director for Domino’s Ireland, Annelie McCaffrey, said:
“It is a privilege for our teams at Domino’s to raise much needed funds and awareness for Barretstown and we are really excited to engage our Domino’s customers in this fun challenge, so that we can raise not just funds but awareness about what this amazing charity does. Over our 20 year history and the many pizza making days we’ve hosted at camp, we have created some really special memories with the charity and we hope customers and communities across Ireland will join us as we yodel together for Barretstown this Christmas.”
CEO of Barretstown, Dee Ahearn said, “In 2024 it cost over €9 million to run our camps and programmes at Barretstown. At Barretstown our mission is to support as many children as possible who are affected by cancer and other serious illnesses. To date we have served over 125,000 campers, and all of this has been made possible by the unwavering support of generous individuals and our fantastic corporate partners like Domino’s.”
Domino’s incredible customers can get involved in supporting Barretstown in other ways too – rounding-up on their pizza orders via Pennies – the micro-donation charity and fund-raising partner of Domino’s, or asking their local Domino’s store how they can avail of the local Barretstown meal deal.
