Decathlon celebrates one year in Limerick!

It’s been a busy year for the teammates at Decathlon’s store in Parkway Retail Park, Limerick, and the store will be celebrating one year Shannonside with a weekend of fun!

Celebrations will see a range of classes and activities in the store on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May, including Skills and Drills demos with former Munster Rugby player (and current Hermitage Green member) Barry Murphy on Saturday, and former Limerick hurler Barry Hennessy on Sunday! The store will also be offering double points on all membership purchases as well as face painting for the children!

Limerick has proven the perfect location for the second Decathlon store in Ireland, and the numbers show it! Over the past year, here are some stats on what the people of Limerick have been buying!

• 23,312 swimming towels

• 17,454 backpacks

• 10,000 water bottles

• 4,000 bicycles

• 3,802 ponchos

• 2,000 tents

• 987 hurls

• 250 treadmills

There are just under 40 staff members (or teammates) on board in Limerick, who have practiced 1,560 minutes of sports together, had multiple pizza parties, have gone rock climbing in UL, and consumed too many coffees to count to get them through early morning restocks and late night showroom set ups!
