Colin O’Shea releases his 4th new single on Friday 28th April, from his upcoming sophomore album “Bright Yellow Shiny Gold”, coming out in June.
The new single “Pablo” pays tribute to O’Shea’s late drummer Paul Lynch who passed away suddenly in 2021, and features a fast exhilarating tempo along with poignant lyrics that encapsulate the memory of the talented musician.
O’Shea, a Ballyfermot Rock School graduate and current student of the Pulse College of music production, received high praise for his critically acclaimed debut album back in 2017, with flattering comparisons to Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Nick Cave, Bob Dylan and U2. After 3 years of writing and recording his sophomore album, produced by David Prendergast (Kodaline, Overhead The Albatross, RWYR), the duo have created a fresh new bag of exciting and eclectic songs that are sure to impress and set O’Shea up as one of the Irish artists to watch in 2023.
Dubliner O’Shea, wrote "Pablo" as a way to remember and honour his dear friend and hopes that it will resonate with listeners and serve as a tribute to all those who have lost loved ones during the pandemic period. "I wanted to honour Paul's memory but not in another sad song. I wanted to bring some reflective joy. This song is an ode to Paul's incredible talent, his passion for music, and his impact on our lives."
“Pablo” is out April 28th
