Claudia Boyle: A Love Story in Song

Writer: Danny Joyce | EditorDanny Joyce | Editor

Ahead of Valentine’s Day, Ireland’s star soprano Claudia Boyle takes on the role of Adina in the Irish National Opera’s L'elisir d'amore, blending romance, comedy, and heart in a production that’s the perfect gift for your loved ones this season.

Ireland’s star soprano, Claudia Boyle, is singing Adina, the love interest of the humble Nemorino, in the Irish National Opera's upcoming production of L'elisir d'amore, the Elixer of Love.

A romantic comedy with heart and humour, performances are scheduled for The Gaiety Theatre in Dublin, as well as Wexford National Opera and Cork Opera House, during May and June. And, while buying a love potion on Valentine’s Day to woo a sweetheart may not work that well, the Irish National Opera is encouraging ticket sales for their production of Donizetti’s L'elisir d'amore as a novel Valentine's gift.

The celebrated opera singer has a huge international following and has performed at G20 summits, in sports stadiums, on live TV, and on stage around the world, including New York, Berlin, Rome, Tokyo, Sao Paolo, Ankara and more. Claudia, who lives in Dublin with her husband David, has two small children Blossom, five, and George, three. She also recently began a broadcasting role, presenting Weekend Classics with Claudia Boyle on Lyric FM, on Saturdays and Sundays.
