Cava Bodega in Galway will welcome Palestinian chef and author Fadi Kattan into the kitchen for a special one-night-only event on May 15th, featuring a selection of special dishes inspired by Palestinian cuisine alongside a Palestinian wine list specially curated by sommelier Anna Patorowicz.

Fadi Kattan is a Franco-Palestinian chef, hotelier, and author, renowned for pioneering modern Palestinian cuisine. He is the co-founder of Akub in London, the co-founder of Louf in Toronto which opened in 2024, and the author of Bethlehem: A Celebration of Palestinian Food, also released in 2024.
On Thursday, May 15th, in Cava Bodega, Galway diners will have the opportunity to enjoy dishes inspired by Fadi’s home country and culture. Every plate is a tribute to Palestinian flavours, heritage, and storytelling.

Sommelier Anna Patorowicz will join Fadi in Cava, as they began working together to bring awareness of Palestinian wines to an international space. Through the glass, Anna explores the terroirs of Palestine with curiosity and a deep understanding of the people and their stories.
Dishes on the menu will include labaneh with sorrel, sumac, and black lemon powder, as well as sautéed chard with lemon and garlic. Palestinian favourites such as freekeh salad, mujadara—a lentils and rice dish, hummus with meat, and batata harra, a crispy potato dish, will sit alongside scallop zibdiyyeh, named after the traditional clay bowl it's cooked in, with tomato, dill, and chilli, and cured lamb fillet enriched with basterma-spiced ghee.
Unique desserts will include the traditional Arab sweet knafeh nests, served with seasonal fruit and orange blossom cream and a mouhalabiyeh, a Middle Eastern milk-based dessert topped with confit fruit and sage.

Fadi’s Palestinian menu will be served exclusively on the evening.
Bookings are advised with spaces limited and can be made on Cava Bodega’s website, www.cavarestaurant.ie .
A portion of the proceeds from the night will go towards the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund.
