After a spell of heavy rain last week, punters seem to be bracing themselves for worsening conditions. Ladbrokes have been forced to slash the odds on record rainfall this October Bank Holiday weekend following a flood of bets.
The bookmaker now make it 4/6 from 2/1 that the 2022 October Bank Holiday weekend is the wettest on record.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: "This past week of persistent downpours seems to have dampened the spirits of punters as we have been inundated with bets on record rain for the October Bank Holiday weekend. If the latest odds are to be believed, our brollies look set to become our most worn accessory this Autumn!"
