Cork-born alt disruptor Bambie Thug (they/them/fae) is smashing through gender and socio-political stereotypes to create an era-defining sound that borders on elements of pop, rock, electronic and more. Self-coining the term ‘Ouija-pop’ to describe their sound, Bambie Thug has made serious waves in the last couple years with a series of genre-defying singles and a critically acclaimed EP ‘CATHEXIS’.
Bambie Thug has just announced their headline gigs in The Academy, Dublin on Thursday 31st October 2024 and Cork City Hall on 7th November 2024 and part of their Crown The Witch Tour.

Bambie represented Ireland at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest with their spellbinding entry ‘Doomsday Blue’, finishing at 6th place – the highest placement for an Irish act in 24 years! The track is about the feeling of having your potential overlooked and an ode to the queer community.
Sonically, the track transports listeners from alt-witchy verses to killer screams, pop choruses, a jazzy middle-eight, before culminating in a metallic roar of electronic and heavy guitars. It perfectly showcases the different facets of Bambie Thug as an artist.
With a visual artistry equally as striking as their musical breath, their witchy aesthetic and strong cinematic videos have seen them transform into otherworldly characters such as ‘HIM’ from The Powerpuff Girls and a vampire bride.
No stranger to the big stage, Bambie has torn up festival stages across the world including Download Festival, The Great Escape and Trans Musicales to much critical acclaim. Their show stopping performances have been described as “a genderqueer, occult-tinged, strikingly theatrical edge” and they have received ongoing global support from the likes of NME, Kerrang!, Rolling Stone UK, GAY TIMES, BBC Radio 1, Spotify, Amazon Music and more.
Speaking about the tour announcement, Bambie Thug said: “So excited to bring Ouija Pop to so many countries on my first ever headline run with ‘Crown The Witch Tour’. Expect magic, music and more. Look forward to welcoming you into the coven x”
The ‘Crown The Witch’ tour follows Bambie Thug’s triumph in Malmö where they placed sixth place in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with their entry Doomsday Blue, receiving a total of 278 points - becoming Ireland’s highest scoring entry ever and best result in 24 years. Bambie Thug also made history becoming the first openly non-binary contestant to qualify for the final and the first Irish contestant to qualify since 2018.
Following the contest, ‘Doomsday Blue’ has flooded charts globally, reaching the top 40 in Ireland (#23), Lithuania (#9), Greece (#12), Finland (#40), landing in the top 10 of the Global Viral 50 on Spotify, as well as earning their first UK chart entry at #67. Bambie’s performance of Doomsday Blue has received rave reviews from fans and press worldwide, being hailed as a “gothic showstopping performance” by Daily Mail and so far amassed over 12M streams on Spotify alone.
Next month Bambie will grace the main stage of UK pop festival ‘Mighty Hoopla’, as well as open the main stage of ‘Download’.
