allta launches next level Bar Experience

The team behind allta restaurant, are delighted to announce the opening of the allta bar and bottle shop. Launched in the Grand Canal Docklands on September 26th, allta bar and bottle shop offers a bright, light and airy lunch and coffee spot by day and a dark, moody and intimate cocktail and craft beer bar by night.

After a series of pop-ups, allta restaurant found its permanent home at the beginning of the year in the heart of Dublin’s Docklands. In addition to its dining room the new location boasts a bar, offering a new food menu meant for more casual lunches, evenings and informal meals.

The bar menu, created by Victoria Scriven and overseen by allta chef and owner Niall Davidson takes its cue from the main restaurant, using the same meticulously sourced suppliers and adhering to the sustainable ethos spearheaded by Niall. The food is served from the main kitchen, with the menu making the most of the ingredients available. Highlights include the allta burger, a Woodtown Jersey dry aged cheeseburger with shiitake and miso and No Messin Bakery fermented potato bun, available with hand cut chips and a pint or glass of wine for €20 every day before 5pm. Diners can also enjoy Cromayne Bay Oysters served under a mural of allta’s famous oyster supplier Patrick O’Sullivan, with happy hour pricing Tuesday to Thursday 5pm to 7pm.

The innovative cocktail menu, by creative bar team Tommie Doyle, promises to bring you on a journey throughout the islands of Ireland. Highlights include Arran, a booze-forward after dinner drink with notes of miso and mushroom, reminiscent of Arran fudge, and Skellig Michael, named after the most westerly sacred site in Europe. Skellig Michael is a collaboration with allta’s apple supplier, Mark Jenkins from The Cider Mill which evokes Ireland’s monastic culture of herbal liqueurs through a light and effervescent serve with an ever-evolving recipe that utilises native apple varieties when at their peak. Other drinks include craft beers from Whiplash Brewery, a serious coffee programme from Proper Order Coffee Co, and a considered wine list leaning heavily into natural wines with a story tell.

Speaking about the launch, owner Niall said:

“allta has always been a love letter to Ireland, and the incredible food offering we have here. We built allta knowing we had something different to offer, and the new bar is no exception. We wanted to create a more relaxed space people would feel at home in, to pop in after work, have a great time, listen to some good music with tasty food and drink. We’ve always felt allta is for everyone, and we really wanted to hit that home with the new bar offering. We’ve created a food and drinks menu that offers the best of allta, in a more accessible format.”

Not just food & drink, allta bar and bottle shop boasts a bespoke Toby Hatchett sound system and will showcase Dublin’s best DJ talent every Thursday through Saturday from 7pm till midnight, as well as regular events including wine and spirit tastings, parties and brand collaborations. Perfect for after-work drinks and nights on the town..

Launching in October, allta’s bottle shop will feature bar and restaurant wines, bottled cocktails and merchandise for drinking in-house, carry-out and gifting.

The allta bar and bottle shop will be open from Tuesday-Saturdays, between 12pm and midnight. The bar menu will be available until 10pm each day.
