Aldi & Deliveroo announce free delivery on groceries

Get grocery shopping delivered to a loved one during lockdown, with the Standard €4.99 delivery fee being removed for the lockdown period. The partnership’s service is available to up to 1.5 million people living in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick.

At this time when the Government is calling on the population to stay at home, with particular emphasis on protecting high risk and older members of our community - Aldi and Deliveroo have partnered to make rapid delivery of Aldi’s amazing value groceries free from 14th January to 11th February.

Aldi and Deliveroo will remove the standard €4.99 delivery fee attached to all grocery orders making the contactless and convenient service even better value. Over 400 products from Aldi’s award winning range can be ordered through Deliveroo’s on-demand delivery service, and will be delivered in as little as 30 minutes. The partnership’s service is available to up to 1.5 million people living in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick.


Launched in 2020, this speedy 30 minute service allows you to do your shop safely and conveniently without leaving the house, enabling people to get their grocery shopping to their doorstep in a contactless delivery or place an order and have it delivered to a loved one at another address. Aldi’s grocery orders can be ordered and paid for via the Deliveroo app or website.


Customers can avail of this free delivery on the app as often as they wish, with minimum and maximum order values of €25 to €75 remaining in place.

Aldi’s Deliveroo service is available within a 5km radius of 19 stores across Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick. Experienced Aldi staff will select and pack the shopping, while a Deliveroo driver will deliver the shopping to the doorstep in as little as 30 minutes. Recipe

Grilled Apple and Fresh Berry Compote Serves: 4 people Prep time: 15 minutes Cooking time: 8 minutes


Ingredients:

• 2 x apples

• 200g fresh berries

• 140g granola

• 300ml 300g natural yogurt

• Juice x 1 lemon

• 50g granulated sugar

• 125ml water


Method:

1. Core the apples and cut into eighths

2. Mix the lemon juice with the water

3. Put the apple wedges into the water and stir – to prevent browning

4. Preheat the grill to high

5. Drain the apples and put onto a baking sheet – grill 6/ 8 mins – turning as you cook till slightly browned

6. Put the lemon juice, water and sugar in a small saucepan and heat to melt the sugar

7. Add the berries and gently cook for a couple of mins

8. Add the grilled apples

9. Divide the mixture between 4 bowls along with the granola and yogurt. Serve slightly warm.
