Following a remarkably successful first series, ALDI is thrilled to confirm that parenting and family podcast Mamia and Me is returning for season two!
Hosted by award-winning actress and bestselling author Amy Huberman, Mamia and Me explores the good, the bad and the funny of the wild and unpredictable adventure that is parenthood, through lighthearted and enlightening conversations with well-known guests.
Highlights from the first series included actor Barry Keoghan reminiscing on his upbringing; broadcaster Angela Scanlon on the importance of Mums setting aside ‘me time’; and well-known couple Brian Dowling and Arthur Gourounlian opening up exclusively about their surrogacy journey. Other guests included Pippa O’Connor, Mark Feehily, Deirdre O’Kane, Lucy Kennedy and Rory’s Stories, as well as many more.
Since it first launched in June 2021, Mamia and Me has racked up an incredible 100,000 streams, catapulting each episode to Ireland’s number 1 kids and family podcast on Apple and Spotify. With Amy Huberman at the helm, listeners come to the podcast for a regular dose of real talk, parenting confessions, and - most importantly - laughs!
Speaking about the forthcoming second season, Amy Huberman said: “I am so delighted to be teaming up with ALDI to bring Mamia and Me Podcast back for another season! As a newbie to the podcast world, I had no idea what to expect but I have been blown away by the reaction to the first season. I’ve really enjoyed sitting down with old pals and new friends alike to chat about their experiences on all things parenting – the mad bits, the exhausting bits, and the pure magic bits, about family and growing up, life and everything in between! And I cannot wait to have even more in-depth, honest conversations with amazing guests this season. If you’ve ever wondered, ‘Am I the only one who doesn’t have this parenting thing sorted?’ then this is the podcast for you. A judgment-free zone where parents can have a laugh, vent, ask stupid questions and hopefully feel less alone. Oh, and drink coffee. Lots of coffee.”
Research carried out by RedC on behalf of ALDI found that Mamia is the top-rated childcare brand consumers would recommend and also for understanding the needs of parents and children. Mamia was also selected most often as the brand people felt was for people like them. ALDI’s Mamia range of nappies are Ireland’s most popular with 25.5% of the market (Kantar, 52 weeks, 12th June 2022).
The new season of Mamia and Me will return next month with special guests to include Today FM’s Dermot Whelan and Dave Moore.
This September, Amy will record an episode of Mamia and Me live from Electric Picnic as ALDI celebrates its role as the official supermarket for the festival.
Mamia and Me is available to stream and download across all your favourite podcasting platforms including Spotify, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts and Stitcher.
